WATCH: Five Times Artists' In-Ear Monitors Have Failed During a Performance

Adele’s GRAMMY set certainly wasn’t the first time that a superstar has had an issue with their in-ear monitor during a live performance. In fact, Adele wasn’t even the only performer to have an audio issue during Sunday’s GRAMMYs. Remember when we couldn't hear Metallica singer James Hetfield for Metallica's duet with Lady Gaga? That was awkward.

In fact, one of the most memorable earpiece malfunctions happened less than two months ago. Mariah Carey's earpiece had an issue during her New Year’s Rockin’ Eve performance, and she ultimately left the stage. Yeah, we’re still cringing about that one.

Similar issues have plagued Taylor Swift, Beyoncé and Selena Gomez in the past. All of these have been caught on camera so we get to see how the stars reacted to it happening with our list.
